Plan to Protect Volunteer

Become a Plan to Protect volunteer

Please complete the following steps.

  1. Please fill out the application form.
  2. The application must be approved by the ministry leaders.
  3. You must pass the Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
  4. You must attend and complete the NTCAC Plan to Protect Training.

Note

  • Although step 4 is the last step, you can still proceed to step 4 without finishing the others with the permission of the ministry leaders. However, you need to finish all 4 steps within three months in order to be a qualified volunteer.
  • In those three months of finishing all the steps, you can still serve as a volunteer under two conditions:
    1. with the permission of the ministry leaders
    2. with the close supervision of a qualified volunteer.

3 Get Reimbursement

  • Fill out the reimbursement form (open document, click “File”, then “Save As” to download a copy)
    • Item: VSC police check
    • Ministry: Children/Youth (Not applicable, please choose Church Ministry)
    • Department: Discipleship
    • Account Code: 6404 Plan to Protect
    • Total Gross Amount: ____
  • Attached the purchase receipt/payment notification
  • Send it to plan.to.protect@ntcac.ca

The VSC is valid for three years. You have to reapply when it expires.

NTCAC Plan to Protect Training

  • Orientation Training: (For new volunteers)
  • Training in English
    • Dates: May 12; Aug. 11; Nov. 10
    • Time: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
    • Place: Room 6, NTCAC
  • Training in Cantonese
    • TBD
  • Training in Mandarin
    • TBD

Volunteers need to attend the refresher one year after completing the orientation training in order to continue their service.

  • Refresher: (Those who have finished the orientation training)
  • Training in English
    • Dates: May 12; Aug. 11; Nov. 10
    • Time: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
    • Place: Room 6, NTCAC
  • Training in Cantonese

  • Training in Mandarin

Volunteers have to attend the refresher every 2 years in order to continue their service.
